Red is the among the luxury codes, and despite the very strong demand from top-end watchmaking, there used to be no colour red available in PVD. Unlike resist solutions or lacquers, this coating is able to preserve the decorations of the treated components.

The prior deposition of a reflective metallic layer provides red-coloured coatings with a homogeneous appearance on dials in particular.
