Watchmaking has been interested in PVD treatment since the early 1980s. Both functional and aesthetic, the first black treatments on watch cases gave the watch products a more technical look, offering an alternative to conventional materials such as steel, gold or platinum.
2004
CREATION OF POSITIVE COATING SA
Founded in 2004, POSITIVE COATING stands out for the development of innovative solutions in the field of surface treatments based on PVD technologies (Physical VaporDeposition). Its main activity is based on decorative coatings for luxury items (metal, ceramic, glass and plastic).
In order to provide ever more innovative solutions to its customers, and also to address certain issues limiting use of PVD, POSITIVE COATING took an interest in ALD (Atomic Layer Deposit) solutions.
By combining these two technologies, it was able to meet the lack of color stability and homogeneity, and significantly expand the number of colors available.
2014
POSITIVE COATING is able to industrially produce coatings using ALD technology.
