#AN OPTICAL EFFECT REVEALING A PATTERN THAT PULSES AND VIBRATES!
OPTIDECO – MOIRÉ COLOR GETS US PULSATING
Moiré color is an optical interference that is part of the wide family of chromatic aberrations. A visual distortion creates a glitch effect which, far from spoiling or concealing a subject, tends to magnify and enhance it. Out of this moiré effect, POSITIVE COATING has created a singular esthetic.
The OptiDeCo coating, characterized by transparency, is thus enriched with a new esthetic. Light can pass through, playing with the sapphire crystal, featuring a structured checkerboard pattern to reveal kinetic optical effects.
In general terms, moiré is an image composed of plain clear lines resulting from the superimposition of two elements. It is a phenomenon of spatial interference between two grids. It was after studying this effect, that the R& D team at POSITIVE COATING decided to offer this esthetic which gives the illusion of vibrating or of a 3D pattern.
This woven effect can be applied to a sapphire crystal on the back of a watch,
for example, to make a pattern or a logo appear. The main interest is to provide visual movement which personalizes the design of the watch, rendering it unique.
