POSITIVE COATING

POSITIVE IMPACT

ETHICAL COMMITMENT

POSITIVE COATING’s POSITIVE IMPACT program
is designed as a comprehensive and proactive approach
to embed sustainability, ethics and environmental responsibility in all aspects of its business.

When it was founded in 2004, POSITIVE COATING opted to integrate the word POSITIVE into its name, long before positivism and optimism became fashionable corporate values. From the outset, this choice of name established a philosophy of work and development which continues today and is reflected at all levels of the company.

Over the years, this positive identity has helped build a corporate culture centered on values of respect, innovation
and environmental responsibility. In keeping with this philosophy, POSITIVE COATING uses PVD and ALD coating technologies that are, by nature, low-polluting. However, the company goes well beyond these technological advantages by constantly seeking to reduce its carbon footprint.

POSITIVE COATING is actively committed to the energy transition by consuming 100% Neuchâtel green electricity from local hydroelectric power plants. Building on this, the company has installed more than 300 solar panels, producing 10 to 15% of its annual electricity needs. At the same time, the company is working on energy efficiency measures to optimize its electricity, water and gas consumption, thus strengthening its eco-responsible approach and its preparation for future ecological models.

POSITIVE COATING’s POSITIVE IMPACT program is much more than a series of initiatives: it is a philosophy integrated into the vision of the company, which positions itself as an agent of change by advocating growth that is respectful and supportive of the planet, individuals and future generations.

PARTICIPATION IN
COLLECTIVE INITIATIVES

Aligned with the Swiss Triple Impact program, POSITIVE IMPACT has set ambitious goals for 2030, aimed at further strengthening its positive impact on the planet and on society. This partnership highlights its active role in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), while strengthening its network with other companies sharing the same values.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION

POSITIVE IMPACT supports a transition to the circular economy by favoring responsible, recyclable materials and production processes that reduce waste and optimize the use of resources.

By 2028, we will extend the lifespan of all our PVD and ALD equipment by an average of 15 years, by performing level 3 maintenance on 100% of equipment compared to level 2 maintenance in 2023.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT
AND PROTECTION

POSITIVE IMPACT involves a rigorous approach to minimizing the ecological footprint of POSITIVE COATING, notably through a reduction in CO2 emissions.

By 2030, we will reduce our tCO2eq emissions (Scopes 1, 2 & 3) by 28% compared to 2022, with a tCO2eq target in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

CLIMATE AND ENERGY COMMITMENT

The company participates in the Swiss Energy Agency for the Economy (AEnEC) program to improve its energy efficiency.

By 2030, we will reduce the annual amount of energy consumed by three of our PVD installations by 7%, compared to the 2022 benchmark.

ETHICAL AND SOCIAL COMMITMENT

POSITIVE IMPACT guarantees a top-level commitment to respecting human rights and social standards within the company and with its partners. This involves promoting a fair working environment, protecting employee rights and establishing ethical and transparent relationships with stakeholders. The company strives to integrate industry best practices, thereby fostering a climate of trust and fairness.

By 2027, the job satisfaction and well-being rate for all our employees is set to reach 80%.

AWARENESS RAISING
AND TRAINING

POSITIVE IMPACT also focuses on raising awareness among its employees and partners, promoting a culture of sustainability and responsibility. Regular training sessions are organized to ensure that each team member adopts the best environmental and social practices in their daily work. Awareness raising through the Climate Fresk was organized in February 2023. The goal is to turn sustainable commitment into a shared, active responsibility.

SWISS TRIPLE IMPACT

As a company aware of the need to redefine the notion of success in the business world, POSITIVE COATING’ aims – beyond commercial success – to have a positive impact on people and the planet.

The Swiss Triple Impact (STI) is an engagement program aimed at effectively evolving the Swiss ecosystem towards a resilient economy while effectively contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through its involvement in the STI program, POSITIVE COATING joins a community of companies committed to a sustainable future.
